The Sticky 2024 Magnet
sad that it only has 6 30-minute episodes
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a Quebec warehouse in 2011-2012; five people were sentenced to prison. This show reminded me of Fargo, which I loved… I think it’s an 8 because it caught my attention…
90% of it comes from Quebec
Margo Martindale is her usual self… I love all of her roles. I didn’t know that Canada produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup… I remember a story from about 10-12 years ago about a maple syrup theft in Quebec…
The supporting cast is also wonderful
worth millions of dollars, so I had to watch it. the story has a French-Quebec feel to it (sweet resemblance, lol). The music is interesting because all these famous hits are tastefully recreated in French with beautiful voices. The setting is as rural as Quebec, which adds realism to the story.
It’s not a long, drawn-out series like many others, so it’s a nice change
The story is a drama, but with a touch of comedy in a good way. Jamie Lee really improves him, and it was great to see him on screen again. highly recommended… a must-see…
