RENEW MEMBERSHIP

It’s time to welcome the new chieftain, new committee and look forward to 2017/18. We will conduct the formality of the Society’s Annual General meeting (around 15 minutes) and then tuck into the fabulous British Club curry and put the grey matter to the test in a mini quiz all about Scotland and its language!

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
To vote at the AGM, you must be an active ordinary member, so please renew your membership at http://renewal.peatix.com. All memberships are up for renewal at the end of March unless you joined after the 31st December 2016; then, your membership is valid until the end of March 2018.The AGM is free to attend but, as we need to know the numbers, please reserve your place in the ticket section.

1. Confirmation of the minutes of the 2016 AGM
2. Chieftain’s Report
3. Treasurer’s Report
4. Appointment of Auditors
5. Election of office bearers for 2017/18
6. St Andrew’s Day Celebrations
7. The conferment of honorary life membership (Society Rule 3d) to Mrs Marion White, Mr David White, Mrs Hazel Halliday, Mr Alisdhair Halliday, Mrs Patricia Forrester and Ms Alison Robb
8 Changes to the make up of the committee (Society Rule 2/original text bracketed with proposed changes in bold): The management of the Society shall be vested in a Committee composed of the Chieftain, Vice Chieftain, Honorary Secretary, [Honorary Assistant Secretary] Membership Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and [and seven other members] no fewer than four and no more than seven other members, who shall be elected at each annual general meeting of members.

THE CURRY AND QUIZ
To enjoy the curry and quiz (a bottle of red wine goes to each member of the winning team, which you can make up on the night with no more than six per team), it’s $55 for members and $65 for non members. We will start eating at 8.00pm and the quiz will begin at 8.30pm.
